I now have a cat to hold my rings.

I made this super cute cat ring holder!
Michael's not only has great products, but fabulous inspiration. If you want to make one too, here is the tutorial.

So, what I did first was gather my supplies. (Actually, the first thing I did was go shopping, as I did not have all of the necessary supplies. This included going to 2 Michaels' to kind the kitty. 100% worth it.)

I like to cover my surface (aka, my table) with wax paper when I paint things. It doesn't stick or leave any residue on whatever I'm painting should there be paint on the "bottom" when drying.

Then I painted the kitty and the dish with the white paint. I did about one million thin layers of paint. I just kept painting until I was happy with the coverage. You don't want to gob on the paint, because then you'll have gobs of paint on your thing and it will take forever to dry.

After the white paint was totally dry, I carefully painted the gilding onto the appropriate places. (Make sure to shake the gilding paint very well before using. Also make sure the cap is super secure before shaking.) What I did not do was take any photos of this. Cuz I didn't think about it at the time. Oh well.

Once that was pretty dry, I glued the kitty onto the dish. Then I let everything set and dry out of reach of any real kitties for 24 hours.

The beautiful results!

Isn't it so cute! It still needs to be "finished" with some sealer before I begin using it, but I don't have any of that right now, so I will just admire it's beauty.

Oh, I found this random container and decided it should match my super cute kitty cat ring holder. So, I made that happen.

I was inspired by this other Michaels DIY project.

So that's that! Go make some things! Let me know all about it when you do.
